Glassal designed and installed a frameless glass entrance screen and fire rated internal partition within the historic home of Sir Walter Scott at Melrose in the Scottish Borders.
The frameless glass entrance was constructed as the main entrance to the house and sits behind traditional solid timber doors. The screen seamlessly provides weather protection to the reception hall whilst allowing natural light to penetrate into the building.
An internal fire screen was constructed in order to provide a clear protective separation between a ground floor corridor and an access stair.
The screens are held within a stainless steel perimeter channel that was designed to be installed without cutting the adjacent stone fabric of the building.
