Bolted Glass Assemblies
We provide bolted assemblies that are suitable for external or internal applications, including feature entrances, roof lights, partitioning and canopies.
The bolted glass assembly system is a technique for installing glass, either single or double-glazed, using articulated stainless steel bolts, clamp plates and channels.
The bolts are designed to absorb structural loading, the weight of the glazing and the differential movements between the glass and structure.
The system is designed for walls, roofs and canopies, both vertical and inclined, internal and external. The glass panes are usually rectangular but can also be shaped and can be flat or curved in form.
Curtain Wall
The curtain wall method of glazing allows glass to be used in large uninterrupted areas creating consistent attractive façades.
Supported on a grid of aluminium, steel or timber panes are installed using pressure plates with decorative cover caps. A continuous elevation of glass can be created when glass units connected to the grid using concealed fixings that are embedded within silicone joints between the panes.
A curtain wall creates a modern design aesthetic to any building. Large elevations of glass bring in a flood of natural light and help connect internal space with the outside with minimal interrupting frames.

Specialist Glass Replacements
The drive towards larger pane sizes in recent years has created operational and logistical challenges when maintenance and replacement is required.
Glassal are specialists in the provision of glass replacements in high and difficult to reach locations. We approach each situation and develop the safest and most suitable access method and replacement process to ensure that the works are completed safely.
We conduct a detailed survey of the damaged pane in order to establish manufacturing requirements and to select a specification that matches the existing as closely as possible. Our dedicated team will carry out the replacement efficiently and safely, often out of normal working hours, in order to minimise the public and building occupants.
