bespoke curtain wall & roof lights
The Burrell Museum was constructed in Glasgow during the early 1980's to house the world-famous Burrell Collection.
Glassal undertook the replacement glazing to the café. A bespoke stainless steel glazing system was designed and installed onto the existing glulam timber structure. Following an extensive survey and review of the customers’ requirements, the Glassal management team developed a stainless steel glazing system that closely resembled the previous system, but which also performed to the highest environmental levels available. Glass was specially selected not only for its quality of light transmitted but also to filter out damaging UV rays in order to protect the exhibits within the collection.
