67 Hope Street Glasgow is a commercial office building developed through the refurbishment of an existing building and the construction a new adjacent extension.
Glassal undertook the design and installation of a structural glass ground floor entrance screen and first floor glass balustrade. The glass facade is supported on a series of glass fins that span the double storey height ground floor opening. The screen is unique as the glass is bolted to the outside face of the fins on the bottom row and on the inside face of the fins on the top row. The screen is completed by a glass roof that is bolted to the fins at mid span. Frameless glass doors are included within the screen that provide controlled entry and emergency means of escape.
