Glassal designed and installed curtain wall, frameless glass screens, frameless glass balustrades and glass floors within a comprehensively refurbished and extended private residence in Gourock.
The traditional sandstone house was extended to include a swimming pool and fitness suite where a mix of capped and structurally glazed curtain wall was used to complete the enclosure. Double glazed units within the curtain wall each weighing up to 800kg and were installed by crane, being lifted from the road over the house to the location of installation. A series of frameless glass doors and side screens were installed around the poolside providing access to sauna and steam rooms.
Glass floors where installed to dining and terraced areas.
Within the existing house a curved frameless glass balustrade was installed onto existing steel beams and stringers over 3 levels.
