structural glass refurbishment
Glassal surveyed and reported on the condition of the existing structural glass roof glazing over the shopping mall at Waverley Market, Edinburgh.
The roof lights are constructed in two layers with the top layer of glass being bolted to a steel structure whilst the inner layer of laminated overhead glazing is held in place with clamp plates with decorative caps.
Each pane was systematically removed and checked for damage before being thoroughly cleaned and reinstalled onto the structure.
Damaged glass was replaced, gaskets and silicone pointing renewed and all glazing bolts and fittings reinstalled and set to the correct torque.
